YR11 Market Day 2018

On Thursday the 31 th of May, the year 11 Business Management and year 11 VCAL participated in Market Day. Our task was to plan and create our own stalls to sell food and drinks and simulate the different stages of planning and opening up a business. There were 14 stalls, 8 sweet and 6 savoury consisting of foods such as tacos, cookie ice cream sandwiches, sausages, milkshakes, crepes, donuts, brownies and many more.

The plan was to set up our stalls during period 4 and then sell our products to the school students and teachers during lunch time. Preparation consisted of many aspects such as sending out surveys to find what food would be popular, working out all business costs, planning our stall designs, marketing our product  and preparing the food prior to the day.

Our experience with market day was a success, making a good profit to then be donated to the charity of our choice. Our group enjoyed creating our cookie ice cream sandwiches and selling them to our school. We really encourage the younger years to choose VCE Business Management as a subject to pursue, as participating in market day is a fun and worthwhile experience.
