On March the 5th, Year 10 Forensic science student's went to the Gene Technology Access Centre (GTAC) to access life science expertise through engagement with practicing scientists, contemporary knowledge and technology.
Student's learned about the structure of DNA, by putting together some 3D models. They then applied that knowledge to try and solve who Murdered "famous musician Archy Whorl".
Working with some PhD. science students, they learnt how to test a mysterious red stain left at the scene to see if it was blood, then to determine what blood type it is, then use the DNA from the sample to try and identify which suspect is the killer. Unfortunately the killer is yet to be identified and arrested.
