Remote & Flexible Learning Guide

As we have moved to remote and flexible learning it is important that all our students and their families have access to the information and resources they need. This article contains information to help you understand the college expectations and approach to remote learning.

Dear Parent/Carer and Student,

As we have moved to remote and flexible learning it is important that all our students and their families have access to the information and resources they need.

Attached below is our Remote Learning Students Parents Guide for our Parent/Carer and Students, so as a learning community we have a shared understanding of the college expectations and approach to remote learning. This will ensure our students can continue to engage with a comprehensive curriculum program, have support for their wellbeing so they can reach their personal excellence.

Advice, tips and resources to support our students learning from home can be found below in the attached document: Information for Parents and Carers.

I wish to reiterate to all our students they will continue to follow their timetable which is located on Compass and the learning material/activities are accessible through Google Classroom.

The college is wanting to continue business as usual as much as possible in a remote learning environment. As such the college will be checking students' attendance twice a day through a Google Attendance Form. These will be sent twice a day at:

  • Morning Attendance- 8:00 am each day and students are expected to fill it out by 8:50am.
  • Afternoon Attendance- 12:35pm and will need to be filled in by 1:25pm.
  • If students fail to submit the Attendance forms an email will be generated via Compass alerting the Parents/Carers that their child failed fill the form in.

Students will continue to have access to the diverse student support services such as Student Wellbeing, Careers and Library Support.

In the event difficulties are encountered with student learning or well-being, the college would urge you to contact the Subject Teacher and/or Year Level Coordinator via email.

Should you require further ICT support to access learning please contact our college, during normal school hours.

This will be a learning journey for all us; families, students and staff. Through working together and continuing to have strong positive family/school partnership, we will ensure students/families will continue to have a strong connectedness to the college and our student to be able to reach their personal excellence in their learning throughout this time.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any inquiries or I can provide further details/assistance.

Regards,

Harold Cheung
