End of 2020 message

Dear Students and Families of Buckley Park College,

As 2020 School Year comes to a close, I wish to acknowledge the progress that every student have made in their learning this year.

Students and Families of Buckley Park College,

As 2020 School Year comes to a close, I wish to acknowledge the progress that every student have made in their learning this year. This year has been especially challenging with our students having to transition through two separate of Remote Learning. 2020 has required both our staff and students to adapt and work in different ways.

Despite these challenges, the staff Buckley Park College continued to provide for our students a diverse curriculum combined with wellbeing days to provide time for our students to build their resilience, especially at a time of adversity. Through the staff's collective efforts, every student had the opportunity to progress with their learning to reach their full potential in a supportive environment.

We have learnt through 2020 the power of the family-school partnership and that we can adopt positive change in practice in a short period by working collaboratively as a learning community involving staff, students and families. The college is amazingly grateful for the immense positive support from our families.

On the 30 Dec 2020, the Australian Tertiary Admission Rankings will be released to our Year 12 VCE students. I encourage you at this time if you need advice in relation to Tertiary Admission please contact Ms Medic who will be available in person, video conference and or email on weekdays from 30 Dec 2020 to 5 Jan 2021 during the University's Change of Preference period. On behalf of the college, I wish every Year 12 student will reach their desired pathway for 2021.

In 2021, the college is eager to build on the work of 2020. We will prioritise our work to ensure we continue to support every student in their learning so we can help students who have been adversely affected in their learning and extend those who have thrived. There will also be increased work focused on further supports targeted at Student Wellbeing, transition and connecting our families to the college.

During this Summer Break, I wish all our families a safe/happy break and a Happy New Year. I'm excited to see our 141, 2021 Year 7 Buckley Park College students commence their secondary school journey. I look forward to welcoming every family back to the 2021 School Year, especially our new families joining the Buckley Park College community.

Kind regards,

Harold Cheung
Principal
