House Teams

Buckley Park College is divided into four houses – Buckley (blue), Croft (yellow), Graves (green) and Hoffman (red). Students and staff are allocated a house when they join the school and they remain in the same house throughout their time at BPC.

Students can apply to be House Captains as well as captains for each of the house competitions.

Activities are arranged throughout the year where students compete to gain points for their house.

These events are:

  • Swimming Carnival (usually held in February)
  • Students represent their house in their age groups against other houses. Winners can progress to representing the school.
  • Theatre Festival (usually held in April)
  • The Inter-house Theatre Festival is conducted each year and gives students the opportunity to work in multi-age teams to devise and perform their own work. Later in the year, students may participate as a cast or production crew member of the annual school production.
  • House Music Competition
  • Athletics Carnival (usually held in May)
  • Students represent their house in their age groups against other houses. Winners can progress to representing the school.
  • Readers Cup (usually held in September)
  • Students from year 7 to 10 use their love of reading to gain points for their house.

The points awarded for each individual competition are put together to find the overall house winner for the year. The winning house receives the Seymour Cup.
