Rationale
Camps are seen as an integral part of the Buckley Park College curriculum as they enable students to explore, extend and enrich their learning and their social skills development, in a non-school setting. They complement, and are an important aspect of the educational programs offered at the school. Our school wide camp program has been developed to meaningfully engage students with our college values; namely, determination, respect, trust, honesty, responsibility, creativity, and tolerance. Camps provide a valuable opportunity for enhancing the social and academic development of students, participating in a range of outdoor and adventure activities not normally available within the classroom based curriculum; and enriching the sense of belonging of both teachers and students to the school community. Furthermore, all of our camps aim to offer our students enjoyable and memorable experiences that support the establishment and progression of meaningful learning relationships between peers, and with teachers.
