For 'Ramen Day', students brought cup noodles to class to engage in Japanese cultural activities. These included learnings about Ando Momofuku (the inventor of instant noodles), the history of instant noodels, and brushing up on their chopstick skills!
However, multiculturalism is also highly encouraged, and students weilded their はし(hashi - chopsticks) to eat a wide array of めん (men - noodles) from different countries, including: Vietnamese phở , spicy Korean 'Buldak' ramen, and Indonesian Indomie Mi Goreng. Of course, Fantastic Chicken noodles from Australia was a hit too! Overall, the students had a great time eating noodles in class, and the day was a だいせいこう (daiseikou - a great success).
Our VCE YR12 Japanese students learn more about Japanese culture as they sit down together to eat traditional Japanese bento using chopsticks.
